Parajes is a contemporary dance work conceived, produced, directed, and choreographed by Sonora-born artist Daniela Urías. The piece stems from a deeply personal experience: accompanying a loved one through illness and reflecting on life, death, and transformation.

It explores life cycles, rites of passage, and the notion of rebirth, moving beyond a direct gaze at death to examine detachment and impermanence, with influences from Zen Buddhism. Daniela Urías ethically draws inspiration from the cosmovisions of the Yaqui and Mayo peoples of Sonora, whose concepts of transcendence and the symbolic “flower world” add a profound, poetic layer to the work. Visually, the flower becomes the central symbol across the set design, evoking the ephemeral, the cyclical, and beauty within transience.

Premiering in Hermosillo on June 19–20, 2025, the work began a national tour with performances in Guadalajara (June 28–29), Querétaro (July 4–5), and San Luis Potosí (July 8–9).
